Benefits of auto window tinting

Auto window tinting has excellent heat reduction properties, including films that reject up up 80% of infrared heat. Window tinting also eliminates more than 99% of harmful UV rays and reduces distracting glare. By adding window tinting to the doors of trucks and SUV's we can provides uniformity to vehicles that already have factory tint.

Window tinting eliminates harmful UV rays

When you’re driving , you may be suffering continual skin damage. While everyday auto glass blocks most of the sun’s ultraviolet B (UVB) rays, they allow much of its ultraviolet A (UVA) rays to pass right through. UVA penetrates deep into the skin, causing DNA damage that can accelerate skin aging and lead to skin cancer. The single best safeguard against UV damage is transparent window film, sometimes referred to as window tinting, which has been specially treated to screen out both UVA and UVB rays. Installing window tinting on your car will keep you virtually UV-free on the road.

Factory tint on vehicles doesn't offer the benefits that Window tinting does

Factory window tinting on cars, trucks and SUV's is not an applied film, but instead is done by dying the inside of the glass with a darkened pigment; an electrical process known as "deep dipping." The pigment gives the glass a tint, but doesn't provide UV ray protection or heat rejection like window tinting films do. The average VLT of factory tint is between 15%-26%. Tint King can tint these windows so you can receive all the benefits that window tinting offers.

Not all window tinting is the same

BEWARE not all window films are the same. Tint King uses the best window tinting in the industry. Unfortunately some window tinting companies prefer to source the cheapest film they can get and pass the "savings" on to you. BEWARE of the cheap price bargain shops.

North Carolina Window Tinting Laws

Car window tinting laws in North Carolina were enacted in 2001. We have provided all the necessary information about your car's window tinting, including how dark or reflective the tint is allowed in North Carolina. Tint King carries a line of window tinting that is made specifically to comply with the North Carolina law and still offer outstanding performance. The percent of visible light allowed through your car windows is called VLT: Visible Light Transmission. The percentage of light allowed through your film and glass in North Carolina is very specific and different for sedan cars and SUV cars or vans.
